This work involves a form of indirect mark-making whereby, in using fuse-wire, I relinquish overall control of the final composition - meaning that the actual event or instance of ‘burning’ plays an integral part in creating the image. This work functions as a drawing, in the way that it is perceived, regardless of the medium used.
