The image has been taken last April in Brescia in an old industrial area, now abandoned and awaiting recovery and transformation.
The photo is the first of a series by the same title, showing similar subjects in various urban contexts. The whole series has been taken at night hours, using the flash on short distance.
After the social-cultural revolution in Spring 1968, after the political – even if comparative – liberalization of the Peking Spring twenty years later, after the violent 2011 demands for a fairer and more democratic society of the Arabic Spring, what Spring awaits the young Europeans’ generation in a precarious society that seems not to plan for them any social, work and cultural role?
