Figure Against Blue and Karki
To recreate the appearance of a form or scene on a flat surface in is an activity that has endless possibilities.
Over the last few years I have developed a way of drawing and painting that allows me to use a very clear line to describe and express a forms solidity and transparency. The relationship between the painterly language I have developed and the chosen subject is crucial to the success or failure of the work. In this painting I wanted the balance between the two background colours and the figure to hold, fix and pin down the idea of a returned look.
