UrbanPlan(T)ing is a reconstruction of the neighborhood in Milan where I used to live. It has been rethought and recreated in a simple, rational and yet imaginative shapes according to the principles of New Urbanism. Civic infrastructures have been placed in a more efficient and sustainable way. The civic centre was given a lemon tree, quoting the poetry I Limoni written by the Italian poet, Nobel prize awarded , Eugenio Montale. The final verse of this poem expresses the sense of sadness and anxiety generated by our modern chaotic cities, and then the relief that comes, as an epiphany, from the vision of a lemon tree, symbol of hope. This tree, in my work, has replaced the institutional and even the religious and spiritual centerRules:
