Personal exhibition of Massimo Mion

by Valentina De Lello, Claudia Miceli

From 3 to 3O September 2012
At the IMAGINA CAFÈ - Venice
Opening Saturday, July 8 at 18:30

From 3 to 30 September 2012 will take place in Venice at Imagina Café, the eighth cycle Imagina exhibition entitled Art Events Upload, Download, Waiting, organized by the Association Cultural Art The Sign On display will Massimo Mion, artist and writer experienced in Urban style with twelve works in paint on fiberglass panels.

The exhibition focuses on the concept of waiting and occupies two rooms dell'Imagina Café with 12 works by the artist.

There is a thin line that separates the suspension action and is called Wait, that's exactly the time that the artist describes as if they were telling people black silhouettes, covered by silence, hidden in places timeless, spaceless, timeless. The thoughts that they contain do not make noise: the time of cancellation, it is the moment before acting.
Waiting is waiting, patience is not weariness or boredom, but you just want to rediscover the time in which the subtle mind and body do not give answers, but they are expressed through the beauty of getting hung up.

The suspension is in solitude to await the Upload action.

The stories of everyday stories s'intervallano as photographs, plus the use of the technique to mask stencil and paint on fiberglass panels helps to increase the feeling of sparse and incomplete. When finally the download is finished, we are we waiting for an event, become accustomed to waiting, loneliness seems finally the gesture for what it really is: a form of progressive confidence motion, constructive silence in an apparent monotony.

Maximum Mion has the ability to approach, and at the same time of estrangement, the latest contemporary trends: approaches to street art and graffiti to the use of color marking spray instead of a distance when, thanks to the stencil, his figuration and abstraction becomes an constructive work.

The creation of the work is divided into several stages: the initial image is digitally broken down into a collage of elements, patches of primary colors that will be used to make the stencil, cut by hand on paper. Each template is associated with a specific color and to a progressive order of use. The artist proceeds to spray with the airbrush acrylic paint with water or synthetic areas cut from stencil masks composed in secession of layers of color work.

The purpose is to deconstruct the subject allowing the eye of the spectator reconstruct the details.
The more you move away from the subject so much more of the same is rich. It thus stimulates the process of perception inviting the observer to reflect on the relationship between signifier and signified.
