Silvio Giordano seems to have found the perfect combination of The Silver Mirror and the space in which it is located, a site-specific example of very successful. The work The Silver Mirror fact inspired not only by reflection on the theme of vanity but also from the cottage where he hosted. Built between the end of ''800 and early '900, is family owned horses, famous fashion designers, who used these spaces is as a private residence (the main body, "the house") and as the first fashion atelier and workshop creative ("the annex").
Silvio Giordano's research on the vanity so ideally combines well with a context so interesting. The Silver Mirror brings us to explore its inherent symbols: the snake, the apple and the mirror, in a game of winking references. If the first, which nests undisturbed, seems to be a reminder of the danger that lurks even in the midst of pure and weak, the other is innocent of the most terrible symbol of temptation and sin. From Adam and Eve, the judgment of Paris up to Grimilde, the evil queen from Snow White, are just some of the episodes in which the apple comes back as an element that misleads and seduces; the rest of the apple is a symbol of the double is divided into two: one half good and the other poison.
We look in the mirror, look and feel our grasp while imperceptibly our being transient, our frailty. Again we face the issue of double with all that it entails. The silent dialogue with the mirror offered by Silvio Giordano puts us in front of a memento mori renewed. We passengers ... passengers vain.
