at home – a modern still life
Actually I make a series of modern rooms. I want to show how we build our homes and how we are living there. In all cases we are lucky: the owners are absent. Most likely they are travelling. So we can have a profound look around. Not that there is very much to see.
Obviously they are orderly people that do not throw their things around. They do not want to spoil the stylish look of their rooms. The design was expensive enough. Personaly
I love their bathrooms. I fancy neat people like this wash themselves at least once a day. They change clothes all the time and have enormous laundry baskets. In their living rooms they spent most of the time handling electronic gadgets of different kind. The TV set is running all the time, even when they are absent. Maybe some time in the future I will start a series where they are present, but I'm not sure. Probably it does not make much difference.

This work is a reflection about cultural change. The traditional forms like the Peking opera are still present but have lost most of their expression in the current culture. Now it has the feeling of a museum and is in a state of disappearance.
