A full coloured blunt and confronting depiction of a cleaning lady in the dirtiest environment. With a gaze that holds the middle between questioning or accepting her way of life. Has she done something wrong to end up cleaning toilets, or is she resting with the fact that this is the way it turned out to be and this is as good as it gets. There is still a hint of beauty to be discovered in her figure, her hair, her face, and she knows that; hence the short denim skirt with a red heart sown on the back pocket, gladly showing her legs. A red button in the bottom right corner is metaphoric for radical choices that –once recognized- can always be made.

A large red closet filled with personal belongings, not only in a material sense, but personal memories and desires as well. Memories to a childhood of which you know will never recur, and the growing consciousness of things and times that will end. Everything that happened in the past and the way you have processed the information gives direction to your evolvement as an individual.
On a large canvas I chose to depict this one simple known fact, a closet. With bright coloured wall paper that reminds me of a childrens’ room, I have filled this closet with objects that have had or still have some kind of significance to my personal life, and my life as an artist. A metaphor for the course of life.
