An image from the work of "Diary of a village doctor". I joined to the patient visits. with the doctor during one year. I prepared a story with photographs of a village doctor's life. I chose a fisheye lens to show the old woman fears in her eyes, with her living area during a home inspection.

Photo was taken in 1975 in eastern Turkey, an underground house. Blurred woman portrait at the backside shows social status of the women in the region in that time. Photo has first award in 1976 in a photo competition called "Woman in Life".

Eva, was my internship photo student during summer 2010 period. We visited different workshops and took photographs during my work called "Grand Bazaar masters". One day at the end of the study, master Armenak wanted to step photos with Eva. Mutual friendly smile made different this image.

Camlihemsin, is a district in the countryside at Black Sea region. Every year, a summer festival is organized before the journey to plateau. This event is celebrated with traditional dances and local music. On this photo, fisheye lens give the appearance of an eye with an elliptical domain.

In Orthodox Church of Antioch Easter day candles are burned with the holy fire brought from Jerusalem. Christians participate to the ceremony at five o'clock early in the morning, and carry the candles their home with the fire after the ceremony. To capture the ceremony and atmosphere of the church, fisheye lens was the right choice.

A fishing net stretched between wooden poles into the sea and two long ropes to pull. This is a traditional fishing about 2000 years old. But you must have a sharp eye and you must act quickly. Because you must see and pull the ropes while fishes passing over the net. Then, gets the fishes in the boat by entering fishing boat that into the pool.

A family portrait photo of a traditional wooden house. It was taken on a photo work called the Plateau Turkmens at Northeast Anatolia. Father was playing with children, were sitting next to the stove. Without disturbing their position I took the mother and father the other side of the stove and I took this photograph.

An image of a documentary study of “three of the 1.may celebrations in Turkey” 1.May 1977 during the Labor Day celebrations, 37 people were killed by paramilitary forces. Labor Day celebrations later banned by the military junta. After a long struggle, government accepted 1.may celebrations in taksim square. 33 years later at 01.May.2010 the labor unions and democratic forces again met in the Taksim square. This photo was taken during the march towards to the Taksim square with workers union and the people.

An image from the work of "Diary of a village doctor" He was the captain of a long way in the past. Now, a cancer patient. Spends his life living in a mountain village like Robenson, grows vegetables and fruit. After inspection of the doctor he told me his life in the past. At that time, he wanted to show me one of his old photograph in their hands in the hut. A wide angle lens was good choice to show his portrait with his living area.

They are waiting their lost relatives for 15 years who were lost during torture or prison by the military junta at past. Every Saturday at 12 o'clock they meet in the same place and tell their stories to the people in the street by sitting down. In a cold winter day they are waiting any news from their relatives with flowers in their hands.

The main theme of the project called “Gypsies” began with this purpose in 1999 and continued till 2008 in several apertures. The photograph in a wedding which a friend invited was few but it forwarded new works in this field. I think this culture can teach us many things, now when our life style is becoming more and more complex. The Gypsies hold on to their life of freedom; they know how to be content with simple things and the beauty the nature provides. Their closely-knit family and community structure provide them with a sense of security. It is a good thing for the rest of us become acquainted with such a culture.
