Live Media - Sacred / MythologicalMegatsunami
live audiovisual performance

Megatsunami is a live performance that has been realized using Lumanoise (a self-built instrument), strobe lights, laser and cold or incandescent lamps.
Modulating the diverse lighting sources largely through improvisation, the performers stratify sound and light waves and organize a rhythmically obsessive liveset characterized by an electrical, noise and industrial sound.
The outcome is a powerfully sensorial synaesthetic experience, both hypnotic and perceptively stimulating through the perfect synchronization between sound and light.
Live Media - Interiorsderelicta
live audiovisual performance

The Derelicta live-media project takes its cue from drexkode's fascinating photographs
and documental investigation in "decaying" sites throughout Europe, which brings back strongly
evocative images of places that still resound with metal and voices.
By dynamically mixing drexcode's photographs, xo00 creates a second level of interpretation:
perspectives and materials relentlessly blend, thus allowing the viewer to slowly
pass through industrial and civil environments.
The subtle, at times imperceptible, management of the light animates the interior spaces,
almost like the unsuppressed echo of a life that does not live there any more.
Maikko's stratification of electronic sounds and field recordings creates a constant tension
of quick and ungovernable sequence of events, sparse silences and huge reverberations
that swallow everything else.

Pattern 3

Installation - Abstract geometricalCeleste Prize 2010
Pattern III is an audiovisual installation surrounding the audience standing at the centre of an interference between visual and auditory patterns.
Sine waves pattern coming in different ways from the loudspeakers on the left and right sides of the perceivers give birth to a third figure resulting from the interferences between the emitted frequencies.
This is a pattern that is not originally existing in the sounds coming from the two loudspeakers as it is generated in real time from the relationship between the sound coming from the left and from the right both as physical interferences (the “beats”)
and as effect of the neurological structure of listening (the so called “binaural beats”).
At the same time, two visual objects are projected on screen with high movement resolution (120 frames for second) generating motion interferences so to realize themselves a third visual pattern synchronized with the transformation of sound. The evocation from nowhere of the complex audiovisual third pattern is at the same time mesmeric and surprising, as it puts the perceiver in front of the creative power of its own perception.
