Ever since her childhood music was part of her life. Influenced by her grandfather who played the saxophone and was a music and orchestra director, she learned to play the violin and was determined to dedicate her life to music.
While studying music and driven by profound mysticism and interest in history and ancient languages, she also took on the study of theology.
Later she decided to change course and entered the School of Art and Decoration at Strasbourg, where she studied drawing, painting and photography.
She continued her studies at the HFG in Karlsruhe, Germany , under the art direction of the Austrian Art photographer, Lois Rainer.
Gala D.’s photographs are all about intimacy, far away from fashion, glamour and publicity.
Her style, she finds it in her own experiences in life and it’s with great force and strong determination she expresses and translates her feelings into something aestethic.
