Leo Zaff is short for Leopoldo Zaffalon, master of applied graphic arts, illustrator, adman and communicator by images with a penchant for synthesized expression.
His ability in advertising to convey reality by compressing visual themes has brought him awards, clients and a successful advertising agency called, not by chance, “Holbein & Partners” after the artist.
In his artistic production Leo Zaff describes his truths with the dry, acute and impartial harmony that belongs to graphic-pictorial synthesis, in which reality is analyzed, cut up and recomposed in symbols (new Symbolist Art), in flashbacks, in popup images, so that public awareness is readily aroused.
He uses various and constantly evolving techniques, while the themes are those of the perception of an often schizophrenic and sometimes shadowy reality.
