The Roberta Smedili Association was born in Milazzo February 15, 2009, to remember Roberta Smedili, passed away at age 23 of an aneurysm aorta.
Works closely with UNICEF, through the national channels, (orchid, Pigotte, AIDS), but its strong point is an event that takes place every year in the town of Milazzo, "the smile of Roberta for UNICEF" with the which raises funds to help children in the poorest countries on the planet, and at the same time keeps alive the memory of Roberta to all those who knew her.
May 2009: UNICEF project "Bolivia - united against the exploitation of children" - painting competition and exhibition of photographs reserved for children of employees of the Milazzo Refinery
May 2010: UNICEF project "HAITI - help and hope to children affected by the earthquake - painting competition reserved for students attending high school in the city of Milazzo
May 2011: UNICEF project "Darfur - a forgotten massacre" - a hundred artists from various parts of the world have donated their work.
May 2012: UNICEF project "Rebuilding childhood for Palestinian children in the Gaza Strip" - 119 artists from more parts of the world have donated their work.
May 2013: The association is already working to organize the fifth edition of "Robert's smile for UNICEF," the UNICEF project "Fight against infant and maternal mortality in Afghanistan," the UNICEF Provincial Committee of Messina and the 'association Roberta Smedili have adopted for their business for the year 2013.
This event will be held in Milazzo (ME) on days 24 to 27 May 2013.
The artists' works will be exhibited and offered for sale with a minimum bid.
All proceeds from the event will be donated to UNICEF.
