Faces, bodies, mostly women, children sometimes ...colors, black, white and material. Characters, all gazing at us from their world, alone with themselves. Even in series they are alone, they only exist through their own image. Whether they are monstrous, ugly, soft, sensual or seductive, all contain some sort of gravity and even if sometimes they may appear weak, that is what gives them their strength.
They are the ones who populate my works. They all have a particular history and all refer to something specific, to a picture, pictures. All have a model somewhere but they have freed themselves, they are independent and autonomous. They are other, all the rest, everything that cannot be expressed in words, they represent the search for the other side of the mirror, the other side of the paper perhaps ... They are both material and feeling; they are totally inert and infinitely sensitive, exposed to everyones view.
Together, they represent a social, non-exhaustive panorama, resulting mostly from popular culture, presenting themselves as samples. Separated, they define themselves by themselves; what is more, more as a sensitive surface than as defined individualities.
Neither alive nor dead, no solitary but whitout family or tribe ... they are changing and fleeting, just as they are rooted in the present moment. They are located just between the reptilian brain and the neo cortex, tirelessly looking for their place and being.
