Terms & Conditions of ART ROUNDS
The free open call for art projects in search of funds
Deadline for entries is 25 September 2015.
These terms & conditions were published on 28 July 2015.
Art. 1 – Theme
"The city and oxygen. For an urban environment in which we can breathe more easily."
Artists are invited to provide critical solutions to urban pollution. Among the main culprits are cars and motorcycles, but also the effects of industry and personal behavioural patterns, combine to reduce the quality of life in our cities compared with environments in which pollution levels are lower or absent. By addressing these delicate issues, artists have the opportunity to be bearers of a creative and environmentally friendly message, designed to awaken the consciences of fellow citizens.
Art. 2 – Projects
Projects can contain a maximum of 10 images and must be in the project-building phase, as yet unfinished or in their initial creative phases, presented as an idea related to the proposed theme, and in need of a maximum of 3,500 euro funds for their completion. Projects can be submitted in the form of preparatory studies, works in graphics, photography, or as a series of images which show the intent and construction of the final project. Finalist projects could be completed thanks to the 'Support & Benefits' in Art.4 below, and can be in any medium or mixture of techniques, such as installation with video or performance with site specific interventions, photography with netart, or as single media projects such as a photographic series or a series of paintings. There are no limits to the size of finished projects or of their time duration. Images of works submitted are uploaded online in JPG or PNG formats from applicants’ personal accounts in Celeste Network. We advise you submit images at least 2,500 pixels on the longest side. Before publishing your work, you can approve or not viewing in high resolution. Projects with less than 10 images are still valid for selection and will be considered on a par with other projects for selection.
Art. 3 - Eligibility
International, open to artists, photographers and creatives worldwide, regardless of age, sex, experience, occupation or geographic location. It is possible to participate as an individual or as a group. Works and projects must have been thought up within the last 10 years, and can or cannot have been exhibited before.
Art. 4 - Support & Benefits
Funding for the two selected projects will be sought via two means: a crowdfunding platform in Celeste Network active between 1 and 31 October 2015, and an exhibition and presentation of the two proposed projects at Art Verona Fair between 16 and 19 October 2015. The two projects which successfully receive funding will be exhibited at the University of Verona, each for a six month period in 2016.
