"Snakes in the Grass"

"Snakes in the Grass"

Installation, Abstract geometrical, Wood, 24.1x94x40cm
I specialize in "Bent-Lamination"; a method for bending wood that goes back at least as far as the original "Thonet" chair. I have been doing a series of "Garden" pieces utilizing different molds for the "stamen" and different bases, either soapstone, alabaster or burl. (Each piece also has different numbers of "stamen".) This piece has a Black Chlorite base, White Ash and Gabon Ebony laminae, and either Palm or Holly "Buds". The base is etched full-round with "Snakes-in-the-Grass".

Have you got this message?
Are you interested in participating in an Intrnational Group Exhibition late next year (2010) in Athens???
If yes, then have a look on my C Studio Events(1)...
Keep in touch and take care, yours Takis
