This is a trauma

This is a trauma

Salt is a peripheral town, with high unemployment and migrated population, and with much of the population living in situation of poverty, marginalisation and stigmatization.

However this situation of injustice and inequality is often not seen as a conflict on the streets, due to the function of public space as a political construction for pacification and normalisation, designed to create an attempt of social peace and to make invisible the conflict.

Despite all this, this invisible conflict goes on, coded onto the urban landscape, showing itself through signals and marks on its elements, as if they were mistakes of the system, as if they were expressions of an underground trauma, like alarm signs, like traces of the people who inhabit this landscape.
