The Centro Cultural Dannemann, in São Félix, Bahia, Brazil has been the venue for the Bienal do Recôncavo since 1991. The event has been held every two years since then.
Of the 1515 entries from 15 states, 242 artists were selected. Among the works analyzed were selected four works in graphic arts, 12 drawings, eight sculptures, 54 photographs, a graphite, 11 engravings, 49 facilities, 20 new experiences, 14 objects, 11 performances, 34 paintings and 24 video arts.
The selection jury included filmmaker Póla Ribeiro, artist and professor of art history at the State University of Feira de Santana, Juraci Dórea, artist, contemporary Vauluizo Bezerra, beyond the international curator Antônio d'Avossa professor history of Contemporary Art at the renowned Academy of Brera in Milan for Curator Pedro Arcanjo, the Biennial has been consolidated as a contemporary space, which now enters its 11th edition, where the works presented have corresponded the expectations not only in relation the quantity but also the quality.
