love and brains

for the days I had been working on this piece, I was pondering again this mechanism of sight that gets taken for granted, and how it all functions within the bigger picture...or whether there really is a bigger picture. Whatever there is, cannot be explained for what it is....and yet what is, feels so incredibly okay for what is.

What proof do you need
to see that what you see
is what you understand
to be
in you.
when what you think
you see
is what you have been
taught to see
then...
what are you really seeing
other than
a brain activity that is happening
in what is understood to be
darkness of a skull
where some plump piece of flesh
plays host to itself
as electrical movements
seemingly interacting
while what is really going on
is unknown
when
taking all the known away
and Being what is already
gives presence to itself...
it’s called Love.
