Refugees

In a simple way this painting symbolizes the children, women and men who had to leave their home and step into the big black hole of insecurity. People who had to abandon the place they knew well and leave everything behind, frighten away by there government, enemies & friends, neighbours... because they have a different color, culture, religion or political opinion. The shape and colors express there feelings of dismay and trauma, but also the hope for another, better destiny where they can be accepted as they are. It is this hope for freedom and acceptation that let them move forwards, keeping them alive.
