Before making the picture with Camilla we have searched in the internet and in our town's churches representations of piety and then was Camilla who choose the composition that she liked the most.
The work, rather than the theme of pity itself, wants to be a reflection on the figure of the virgin, child-woman. No parent should ever outlive his children.
Who knows the pain and the tears of a mother who loses her son knows that in its manifestations and sounds recalls the despair of a child against a deprivation which does not understand.
The eyes of Camilla in the photo is actually deceiving, and it creates a break with the theme of the composition.
