In June 2008, as a result of medical negligence, I was diagnosed with advanced aggressive prostate cancer. I learned that I was in the late stages of the cancer and that it had spread outside of the prostate capsule. Today, my life is a series of continuous procedures and ongoing treatments. The experience has changed the way I examine myself through my medium. I returned to my old self-portraits, my 37-year portfolio, and decided to incorporate it into the visual fact of prostate cancer. The end result is what I refer to as Prostate Cancer, The Book.
