Inspiration: This artwork is representative of my work addressing the ongoing theme of how technology, gadgets, and social media have influenced the way we live, communicate, and see ourselves in contemporary society. My work is a commentary on the new social norms and trends that are evolving around the "connected" nature of modern life. Technology and social media has allowed us to be inundated with information and pressures users to respond and engage. Ironically, we are now seeing a rise in anxiety, loss of sleep, and feelings of disconnectedness. My work prompts the viewer to think about his/her role in this new connected era and to possibly re-evaluate how he/she uses or interacts with this popular media.
