in : vero : simile

in:vero:simile is a two-person project that starts from childhood books, rediscovered on the bookshelf, and from texts found through a constant research on fairy tales which are seen as mirrors of time and journeys through the female figure.

It is an aesthetic research, even though not purely and exclusively so, to bring fairy tales back, to update them through a photo-graphic game that shows their symbolic value and expressive power, releasing them from their overloaded original context.

in:vero:simile chooses nocturnal, ambiguous and sour fairy tales; it steals just a single moment from them, transforming it into an evocative image, not a didactic one.
The “unlikely woman” is no longer reassured nor reassuring, she moves where reality - tangible through bodies, landscapes and textual expressions - strays towards a world where death lingers cruelly and sometimes fiercely.
