NAUFRAGIO
The figurative painting language, despite the momentous changes that have involved, always remains an incredibly effective tool for effusive transmission of feelings and sensations. This reflection, true in general, it becomes even more true when you consider the works of Paca Ronco, which now experiences ever new paths time, without losing sight of the extraordinary power of images. Pollock said that "Every good artist paints what is" and she is just that: a mixture of carefree passion and conscious lucidity, as seen in the wreck. Apparently an idyllic landscape, dominated by the blue sky, clear and slightly more blue sea; in the foreground a beach and a sand castle. It could be the visual depiction of a serene moment, but something causes a change of perspective. This something is the boat, which in its clarity dominates the central part of the painting: is about to sink, bringing with it hopes and illusions. Because life is like that: a succession of joys and disappointments, which put a strain on the human being, but at the same time force him to constantly get in the game. In his poem Joy of shipwrecks Ungaretti wrote: And immediately resumes / The trip / How / After the shipwreck / A survivor / Sea Wolf. These words seem perfectly fit the painting: the difficulties are the stimulus to take up their journey and a shipwreck can be oxymoronic cheerful when pushing to start over, how does Paca every time.
