the bridges
This work is about my personal concept of viewing the union of the various existences & dimensions in an imaginative time and space, representing ideas sounding a constellation of ambivalent objects leading us to a unified image on each piece. Figures in each piece showcase the half-wheel/ bridge figures referencing a visual cult in the Mediterranean stretching from Egypt(like Nut goddess ) to Etruscans.
The body of the work is reflecting the incarnation of a mental geography and geometry, that in their union take the body as a bridge. A bridge that is shaped by many arch spans. Each span represented by arching nude woman figure.
Each of these figures which represent a half wheel pose, contain a particular combined objects that comes out of the belly of each of these figures, as such each personage, giving birth to a special content and mater.
Each personage, shape shifted, becomes a visual metaphor. Cross-dressed with a unified fusion of various religious objects and familiar image cults or known symbols and historical references of our contemporary society.
The shape siftings of these figures and transfigurations, together with the rhythm of juxtaposition of these pieces show us creation of these images, transforming themselves into the idols of our contemporary era.
In summery, this mental bridge is a parade of female idols. A parade of the cult images of our time celebrating and announcing their apocalyptical coexistence.
