Hesperia
Hesperia by the Greeks was the West, the hope of new life, a new world again.
The shores of the South West of these are Italian Greek exiles, forced to sail into the unknown, especially to the land that would later be called "Magna Grecia ".
I reworked the concept Magritte-style, through a window from which you can see a tree on the beach, stretching to the east, as left to call home. Within the grass a deep green recalls hope in the future.
The idea for this painting came while I was walking on the beach of Vieste (Foggia), where there is actually a tree on the beach, is this allowed me to create a landscape with deep meanings.
