ARS Cultural Movement and Palladino Editions (Lithograph prints, publishing and art gallery since thirty years) kindly invite you to participate to the abovementioned International Contemporary Art Exhibition. The event will be part of the first edition of Festival Vitae, a mixture of cultural events (involving the five senses) around the concept of Peace.
The guests, while admiring the works of art in the show, will enjoy the music of Handala, a Palestinian – Italian music band; a Capoeira dance group from Brazil will gladden the event with its performance; ethnic food and various cocktails will be offered in the Lounge Bar and the Italian-Swiss poet, Lucilla Trapazzo will present a reading of contemporary poems, accompanied by the classical musician Vincenzo Lentini, at the piano.
The opening will be held on October 31st at 6,30 pm at the facilities of Palladino Editore, in the industrial area of Campobasso. The site is a vast exhibition area (600m2), which has become a traditional meeting point for Contemporary Art in Molise. The objective of the exhibition is to awake the awareness of the public to this sensitive topic. Each artist will create two works: one having as focal point the recent “Nobel Prize” to the European Union, the second one focusing on the long-standing Israeli-Palestinian conflict. This exhibition will give the artist the possibility to tell the reality in first person, as a witness and a ‘’reporter’’ of current news. The event is also a unique opportunity to discover a city and a region often and wrongly underestimated.
The event will also include three different art competitions. The five prizes, given to five different artists, chosen by a jury (President: Arch. Massimo Palumbo, director of Kalenarte; other members: Rome Biennale President Giuseppe Chiovaro and art critic Giuseppe Giannantonio), will be the following:
- FIRST PRIZE “USA”, the chosen artist, free of charge, will take part to the International Contemporary Art Exhibition, organized by ARS, at the Ward-Nasse Gallery in the heart of Soho, Manhattan, New York. The shipping costs Rome/NYC/Rome will be covered by ARS;
- SECON PRIZE “Europe”, two artists will participate free of charge (including shipping costs from/to Rome) to the International Contemporary Art Exhibition in Brussels (Belgium), at the Espace Art Gallery.
- THIRD PRIZE “Italy”, two artists will show their works free of charge to the Biennale of Rome, in 2014.
Since the Festival Vitae has among its goals also charity, each artist is expected to donate one of his two proposed works. Roberto Rodriguez, a well-known auctioneer, will auction the painting during the last day of the exhibition (November 10th, 2013). The proceeds will be devolved to the Comunità Terapeutica Molise SCARL, in this particular case to the re-integration project for drug addict youth “Art, Metals and crafts”.
