From the capital of Fashion and Design, Milan is rapidly evolving into a pivotal platform for a new concept of contemporary Art as entertainment: from its new venue at the Science Museum in downtown Milan, and just few months after its first edition took place, StEP09 will present you with an enthralling second edition, rich of substance and insight, a true experience of culture, art and music.

StEP09 is an interdisciplinary platform where contemporary art, performance, music and culture are featured on the same stage, thus offering the public and art dealers a unique experience among the throng of art exhibits worldwide. Indeed StEP09 aims at overcoming the traditional scheme by instead conceiving spaces and sections where absolute will be the entanglement and the creative force of young galleries and artists alike.

Galleries will be selected according to three main guidelines:

SOLOPROJECT

Galleries exhibiting in this section must design and develop a creative project apt to the space they occupy. An extensive collective of galleries is thus ensued, where each one presents works of a limited number of artists.

LIVEPROJECT

Galleries can also propose live performances of artists and / or site specific works. Stages will be set up for dj-sets, readings, sonorous installations and multimedia theatrical performances.

KINETICSTEP

For the first time in Italy, StEP09 is also hosting a selection of artists and galleries which use technology and kinetics as their main creative tools: from the new rising star Balint Boligo to Davide Angheleddu, both present at the last Kinetic Art Fair in London, this recent trend will be duly represented.

The relationship with the media and the press campaign will be particularly accurate, and few days before StEP09 opens it will also include two dinners with journalists, partners and sponsors: in a relaxed setting so different than the hectic press conferences we will underline all the highlights which make StEP such an innovative platform.
Moreover, our press office will co-operate closely with the Museum's, thus creating an effective sinergy which will allow us to easily reach all targeted people.

Friday's Preview will be by invitation only, and our VIP guests will be welcomed by a pianist performance.
On the following two days entrance will be free.

An auction run by famous Italian showmen will submit selected works from artists showcasing their oeuvres, and a series of conferences will give room to new collectors and young art critics alike; indeed StEP09's purpose is also to offer a privileged platform that strongly encourages and sustains the exchange of ideas and works: a melting pot and meeting point for the art lovers.
