Artist Christina Drakos
NEW YORK BETWEEN THE LINES

Narrator of light, world artist, interpreter of ephemeral visions tied to an instant, a cross between space and emotion, between the noise of the city and the minds of those who live it, Christina Drakos went with her third eye through tropical oceans, the blue of the Mediterranean waves around the Greek Islands, through rocky deserts and Mexican wilderness, visiting lives and hearts of men and women.

The third eye of Christina has travelled through ancient and modern worlds, has interpreted the charm of ancient Greece, and Aphrodite, the exoticism of India, has portrayed the clash between literary paradigms, between Kipling, the scents of spices and the new pride of being young and women in modern Asia.

Went through the lights of the European capitals and huge spaces in New York, always looking for the thread of a joy, narrating the feeling of an instant, the heartbeat of the city, the breath of the people, the music of a note.

These things you may taste on her website, bur you are going to live the emotions they provoke today, in this gallery.
The imagination of Christina is a free spatial reorganization that captures new perspectives, the narration of Christina is a time that does not end, is a line that drags new visions, spiritual insights made of houses, of things, of inanimate objects and animated memories.

She vision she realizes is an introductory sentence that wraps, unites and brings together, just like a zipper opens and closes new ways of seeing and living.
This narrative thread is a zipper that digs between rows of everyday life, where there is the heartbeat of the imagination,
between rows of banality, for instance the extraordinary moment, when a group of ballerinas, dart in a can can dancing traffic,

between the glimpses of the world's most famous skyline, where there are sudden exchanges of mood between games of shadows and lights.

Opens the borders of an ice rink, where there is a white paradise of love for two solitary dancers.
Discovers the calm gaze of a silent clock among the crowded sidewalks.

And in the music of a jazz band stopping on a sidewalk, catches the passion of a man painting in red colour his art and his feelings.

New York between the lines plays the notes between music lines, plays the tune of life that is hidden and revealed by the affectionate eye of a female camera, which is never aggressive or violent, but is an arrow that catches an expression, a play of light, a chance of encounter between distant worlds, one second before before they are gone and lost forever.

On that stage in continuous motion that is New York.
A motion picture, where Christa Drakos manages to photograph the sounds, the moods, the loves, the weather of the heart, the inner rhythm. There is the one who opens his lap top to write a secret message or hear the beating of his loving heart, there's the rhythm of the music, the beat of jazz, and often music or other voices open to unspoiled worlds, create new flying bridges between people and situations, but always between the lines, between the folds of everyday life.

New York between two lines of poetry.

A line following the profiles of men and women, of casual objects that make up your own image, or break down our identity.

They are the visual points of a city that changes like a Kaleidoscope, but in the space texture there is always a place for a virtual hope, for an ephemeral and surreal world (the play park for children) a line that illuminates the emotions, that gives voice to feelings, that gives a personality to the spokes of a bike, to its coloured saddle (that seem to be breathing), to the hands of an old clock that looks like a watchful eye.

It is a moving line that brings feelings.
Maybe words lost in the wind.

The role of the gallery and its curators Wikiarte Fogacci Rubens Deborah Petroni and Davide Foschi in these exhibitions is more essential than ever to serve as a connecting element between a technical and a language accessible to a non-expert, presenting itself not only as professionals but experimenting with new solutions directly.
