Apocalypse or New Era
The ancient Maya civilization of Mesoamerica - practicing the sciences and had very deep knowledge of astronomy - the time measured on the basis of a complex system of cycles that take into account relationships and mutual relations between the various elements of the universe. Translating this peculiar kind of counting according to the most well-known terms of the Gregorian calendar, we would do coincide approximately the end of the current calendar year 2012 with the completion of one cycle of the Maya, after which - according to a number of insights metascientifiche and mysterious prophecies - should occur something absolutely shocking enough to cause a fracture net within the historical flow.
