PAUL BALBONI And POL PALLI
Eddi Birthday centerpiece of the installation and Memories is Eddi, a puppet just four centimeters tall, made of ceramic and iron in 1880. Paolo Balboni, found Eddi in a Parisian street market, and took in his nature of the subject, a means through which from hand to hand in its long lived 130 years history by becoming a relic emotional.
The friction between the appearance of the infant doll and its master data bearer, actually, centuries-old identity is expressed by the photographs collected in an album of the past which accompanies the sculpture; the photographs, which are also found in flea markets, have experienced the taste of daguerreotypes with paper worn and colors sandblasted and become the temporal space to accommodate Eddy that is integrated digitally preserving, unlike all the subjects that are deleted with engravings scratches and manuals, its presence intact.
Eddi Birthday and Memories, becomes the representation of the permanence of objects, than the limitations of the body, which is inexorably linked to the passage of time passing and, therefore, the "life-time".
Eddi Birthday and Memories and Medusa Medulla are included in the Special Project Setup Contemporary Art Fair on 29-30-31 Gennaio2016 visible at the bus station of Bologna.
