Biografia
I wanted to create a space in my work that embodies the notion of loveliness suspended in a kind of physical ether - the female specter or Venusian ghosts in various incarnations. Features are blurred and cast in shadows. Colors seems to bleed in to each other as if caught in a downpour. The figures in my works are bathed in a kind of melancholic half light with hues burned onto their skin. They are women or mythic creatures with the details of their appearance, the signifiers of beauty softly removed from focus. They are figures that refer to a psychological space bordering on submission and dissent. This is a myopic view that allegorizes the the loss of a great moment or a fall from grace.
