Biografia
Hello, I am Lynne Lawner. I pride myself on having for many years an international life. A great deal of my cultural background is Italian since I lived a long time in Rome. I am a writer of many books and a photographer who also does a good amount of journalism. My most recent translation is PAINTED FIRE: SELECTED POETRY OF MARIA LUISA SPAZIANI. In the near future I plan to produce a memoir from thousands of notebook pages. Meanwhile, I am preparing another book about art, having to do with certain myths of the ancient world in Western art up to today. I enjoy very much lecturing to different kinds of audiences and can do so in Italian and French as well as English. Even though my creative life is very intense now, I am looking for a position in the public sphere, hopefully in New York area. My photographs (artistic rather than journalistic) will be shown soon in Milan and can be viewed in my studio on E. 72nd Street. Together with a curator and designer in Milan, I am preparing an artist's edition of combined poems and photographs.
