Biografia
Drawing as a kid always fascinated me. My school notebooks were filled with drawings rather than notes. Drawing was a means not only to kill my boredom at school but I used it as a visual commentary for my thoughts and feelings.
I finished my Bachelors form Rajasthan University India. The landscape of Rajasthan is very dry and colorless so the people substitute it by wearing vibrant color clothes. My choice of color palate has similar intentions. My paintings depict the light and the colors of the city I lived in for 30 years.
I completed my Masters in painting form Visva Bharti University; India. It is one of the most prestigious Art Schools in India. I was influenced by the works of Van Gogh, Piccasso, Rabindranath Tagore other expressionist artist. I explored the subject matter of human emotions and suffering. My works are autobiographical, they depict my inner state. My inspiration comes from personal experiences, my environment and memories.
I came to Canada to have an international exposure and a new experience. I have sold my works in India and Internationally. My work has taken a new direction after coming to Canada. The subject matter remains the same but the style keeps evolving.
