Biografia
My art is constructed from personal experiences and biography. The early works consisted in pieces wherein I observed and interpreted my surroundings in order to establish a dialogue between the real and the imagined. They were site-specific installations, which I later recorded as photographs. I altered real spaces with ephemeral materials, achieving strange situations that invited others to think and investigate what had taken place there beforehand. I eventually felt the need to leave a “trace” in the places I inhabited on a regular basis or sporadically, through interventions adapted to the characteristics of the spaces. I continued with the places I had inhabited during childhood and part of adolescence, and moved on to others with which I was not personally familiar but that were part of my history. I have tried to return to them through my artwork, through photographs, videos, animations and drawings, in which I use narrations or “memory exercises” to reflect an absence or a specific moment of my biography, blending imagination and memory. In addition, I have produced public art projects, recreating actions, such as popular games, or situations from everyday life, reflecting the changes in the environment and the absence or disappearance of certain activities that are typical of an individual or a group.
