Biography
I am a self taught visual artist since 2012 encompassing Photography - digital & analogue, Film-making and also creating costumes for my models in portraiture projects.
I am inspired by the experimental technique approach to my photography and by the foundations of "controlled mistake" that lends to such unique outcome, and the sometimes hard to master embodiment of emotion and character in a flat image.
My work is predominantly monochrome as the focus on shadow/form/composition has been the base for my independent studies to perfect the skill needed to progress my eye for image making. I execute everything within my images, from scene, set, costume, props, often scouting for hours to find unusual locations and leaning on friends or inspiring people I meet to model for me. It is rare that the photo-shooting will consist of more than myself and subject, and this interchange is a huge part of my interest, engaging with the "character" of the individual, developing there trust and merging there inspiration with mine to create a special and energising image.
