Biography

Founded in 2002 the Bonelli Contemporary Art Gallery addresses its attention to the support of young artists.

The Gallery is present in the historic centre in Mantua (Lombardy – Italy) with spacious and luminous halls where various events take place regularly. Throughout these years young artists from thirty to forty years old had the opportunity to exhibit their art works in this important premise.

Moreover, the exhibition programme of the Gallery included some relevant international personalities such Oliver Dorfer, Andres Serrano, Liset Castillo, Inti Hernandez, Kim Dorland and Nicola Verlato.
The Gallery pursues the growth and support of the activity of Italian and international artists, participating to outstanding national and international art fairs, publishing catalogues and organizing important events.

All projects are planned and realized with the collaboration with important curators and critics as Gianni Romano, Andrea Bruciati, Eric Shiner and Marco Meneguzzo. Nonetheless the Gallery often completes the project with the publication of a catalogue.

In 2006 the Gallery opened a new exhibition space, BonelliLAB, in Canneto sull’Oglio in the province of Mantua. After a huge restoration of this former industrial setting, this space – about 2000 square meters - is now suitable for the organization of great events and exhibitions.

Among the several shows we would like to remind the group exhibition “Paradiso Terreste” where artists like Hermann Nitsch, Paul Sakoilsky, Alexis Rockman and many others transformed the space in a paradise-like setting for their art works. Moreover, Check-in, Italian Calling and For Example are some of the group shows which took place in this premise, together with the solo shows of Paul Beel and William Marc Zanghi.
