Biography

I am an trans disciplinary artist living in Brooklyn, NY recently relocated from Los Angeles. I am currently pursuing my M.P.S at NYU's Interactive Telecommunications Program [ITP]. My work has largely explored identity construction through the use of cultural pastiche. Specifically, I am interested in how discourses are constructed and employed to achieve certain aims.

In the Crime Dots series, I specifically use the visual language of Sol Lewitt and John Baldessari to understand ways in which privilege is mobilized in contemporary art and academia. R03;In Narwhal, I employ the tactics of Joseph Beuys to give the work an air of museum like authority. In 101 Ways to Replace a Phallus, I call upon the rhetoric of the empty artist studio to affectionately mock the typically masculine canon of video art. imitation is an important element to my practice, where I [much in the vein of Slash Fiction] am infiltrate established discourses.

I am currently obsessed with mountains, deep time, and Mars.
