Biography
Emma works almost exclusively in oil paint as its visceral quality is physically important in creating charged energies that ring beneath each painted gesture. Emma’s paintings capture something beyond the real, as figurative pieces that become abstract; as you move closer to the painting’s surface they expand into a landscape of the brush marks.
