Biography
Monica Buratti was born in 1967 in Rome, where she attented the Art High School. She has worked for the Sovrintendenza dei Beni Culturali, dealing with preservative and antiques restoration. The works here shown have been realized with different techniques: acrylic, oil, leaf and charcoal. They can be used for decorative purposes and considering their sizes, they naturally become forniture in big rooms and spaces.
The theme of the “trees”, even if not new in the history of paintings considering the extraordinary examples of Van Gogh, Monet, Klimt and Mondrian (just to quote a few ones) is functional to the concept of revalueting the technique, expressing simple contents that however required a skilled mastership.
The “waiting times” that restoration requires, do find a natural application in these works that give substance to the technique through modern contents.
The path Monica Buratti suggests through her works is that of looking ahead, do not stop and feel satisfied.
From the ground to the sky.
