Biography
Orianna Montenegro is Venezuelan born, Miami-based visual artist and designer who explores through her work the frontiers of color, space, balance, time, and memory. She earned her B.F.A in Studio Art and a B.A. in Graphic Design at Lindenwood University. She also attended for courses to Parsons the New School of Design, Boston University, and Universite Catholique de Lyon.
Her work unfolds the juncture of different scenarios that have occurred in different stages of life, but simultaneously she combine the scenarios to be on the same timeline, providing interconnected timelines through her canvas, as portals to a mixture of past, present and future of life.
Color is essential in Montenegro’s work; she explores its infinite combinations and balance through contrast and blending, re-contextualizing it coexistence creating new perspectives of memories and time. Her work addresses mind, heart and soul through an endless exchange of invisible vibrations and memories, incentivizing the senses and inviting the viewer to immerse in this experience without conscious reasoning on first site.
Montenegro’s works have been recognized for their energy and power. Her command of color and texture creates a distinctive language to reveal powerful links with infinite time frames, allowing the viewer to visit through her canvas, these new infinite realities.
“...My imagination travel to existing recollections of different stages of life that I describe through a process of layering. When I paint, I feel connected with a higher power guiding me to describe these visions with colors and textures.
