Biography
I am an artist who lives and works in Edinburgh, Scotland.I graduated from Grays School of Art in 2005 with a first class hons degree.Since then, I have been working both as an artist and as a lecturer in painting at Grays School of Art.
Throughout the years my work has primarily focussed on the relationship between the female and control. I have explored this topic in many different ways from the female as performer; femininity as masquerade, to the interpretation of the novel, ‘The Yellow Wallpaper,’ whose central themes revolve around repression and the journey to both madness and liberation. It is on this path that my work is still wandering, examining the history of female madness and the ways in which this has been both viewed and handled over the years.
My entry, 'Blessed Little Goose,' refers to the novel , 'The Yellow Wallpaper,' and reflects on the main protagonist and her internal conflict between duty and self satisfaction/liberation.
