Biography
Antônio Sérgio is plastic artist, it was student of the course of History of the Art with the teacher and curator Marcos Hill, in the Galeria Celma Albuquerque, in Belo Horizonte. He frequented the workshops of Paper and Pencil, of Wesley Duke Lee, in the Cultural Workshop Oswald of Andrade, São Paulo. He also frequented the workshops of art of the Museu Lasar Segall, in São Paulo. Plastic artist and curator of independent art. Lives and he works in the city of Belo Horizonte, MG.
To invitation of the curator Antònio Pinto Ribeiro of the Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian it participates in the collective “Distance and Proximity”, Lisbon, Portugal, 2008. He made the trusteeship to invitation of the Municipal Foundation of Culture of Belo Horizonte of the exhibition “FAN ON the CITY” (a cutting about the memory of the four editions of the International Festival of Black Art of Belo Horizonte) in the City councils of Belo Horizonte, being also itinerant for the sixteen Cultural Centers. It was Coordinating of plastic arts and Visual of 4th FAN 2007 - Festival of Black Art of Belo Horizonte. He made trusteeship of the exhibition “ressonâncias@rtesnegr(as)” of the Festival of Winter of Ouro Preto and Mariana Fórum of the Arts 2007. He supplied the “Collective Workshop of Drawing: Corpo/Imagem/Memória” in the Festival of Winter of Ouro Preto and Mariana Fórum of the Arts 2007. He made the project and it was coordinating to invitation of 3rd FAN 2006 - Festival of Black Art of Belo Horizonte of the course: ressonâncias@rtesnegr(as) Introduction to the African Artistic-cultural Universe and of Atlântico Ocean Negro, accomplished at the Historical Museum Abílio Barreto in Belo Horizonte. It was curator-attached in Brazil of the exhibition of contemporary art “Replíca and Rebeldia”: artists of Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Mozambique”. Organized for the Institut Camões of Lisbon, Portugal. It was curator of the installation “Tree of the Memory” and Coordination of plastic arts and Visual of 2nd FAN 2003.
