Biography

In the “Homeo” Series, I use homeopathic healing as an analogy for my process. I paint my struggle to capture the experience of an isolated emotion. In my pursuit of mirroring this anxiety in painting, I find myself portraying androgynous, animalistic clones representing my feelings. This series evolved from my original idea to depict my clinging onto experiences and emotions such as nostalgia, trauma, love, fear or loneliness. Working on it has helped me immerse in a topic and deeply examine it as I explore its relationship to myself.

My paintings are typically quite large (ranging from 6-8 feet in height & width).

After I returned from Italy to New York in 1986, the French painter Francoise Gilot took interest in my work and continued to encourage and support my endeavors, and I have been a professional artist ever since. Through the ‘90s, I continued to show in galleries in New York (Art et Industrie, Athena Fine Arts, The White Gallery) and the United States (The Lowe Gallery, Atlanta, GA). Most recently, I had a solo show of my newest work at Opaque Gallery in New York City and a group show at the Brooklyn Artist Gym in Brooklyn, NY.
