Biography

Irene Pacini is a musician with a particular attitude to merge sound and visual inspirations. After achieving her diploma in piano she starts her studies in composition and becomes acquainted with the use of the new technologies and its possibilities. Opening up to this artistic direction, she develops a growing interest in the field of visual arts, where sound and image complement each other. Her music has been played in many electronic music festival such as EMUfest 2012 (Rome), Silence (Bari), Science Festival (8th edition, Genoa), Musiques et recherches (Bruxelles). Her video works have been exhibited in personal or group exhibition such as Sala Dogana (Genoa), LAL Loudoun house (Lexington), Palazzo Broletto (Pavia), Urban Research 2013 (Berlin). She also collaborated with the international well-known poet Nora Gomringer, to the creation of the musical part for the radio-drama “La Lanterna. Genova speculativa”. This work has been played at the music festival Jardim dos sons (Lisboa), at the museum of contemporary art Villa Croce (Genoa), and in occasion of the Atelier klangforschung (Wurzburg).
