Biography

Renata Crespi, born in 1966, studies and works in Milan.
As a child expresses her passion for art and her interest in different objects as experimented and known by exploring the family building company.
She takes her inspiration from the city and uses everything that surrounds her in order to design and build her works of art, making the reuse of materials her stylistic signature. Everyday objects, abandoned, old or found ones, which are considered useless, in her hands takes a unique and original artistic value.
In 2001 she discovered the light and Recrea was born, a line of light sculptures that she renews and recreates every year. Light becomes a common thread, like a beating heart for these objet trouvé transformed into sculptures: works of art, original one piece design, ironic and charming, ideal for indoor and outdoor decoration.
Omnivorous collectors of different objects, the materials Renata Crespi works with are kitchen utensils, electrical and hydraulic components, building products, auto and motorcycle parts and any object that turns on its creativity, with a special fondness for metal alloys and plastic materials.
She exhibited in solo and group shows and works for architects, interior designers and clubs, also developing “on demand” projects.
