Biography
Debora Vrizzi (1975, Cividale del Friuli) is a videoartist and a director of photography.
After graduated at the Accademia di Belle Arti (Academy of Fine Arts) of Bologna, she gained work esperience in fashion, simultaneously going on with her own artistic pursuit. Her interest for cinema and video arts grew in time. In 2007 she graduated at Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia (SNC _ CSC) of Rome in Photography, course led by Giuseppe Rotunno. She directed the photography of some short films, which took part in festivals and cinematographic expositions, among which the Festival del Cinema of Venice, the International Film Festival of Locarno, the Berlinale. She has been awarded for photography as Migliore Fotografia (Best Photography) at Capalbio Cinema International in 2008 and at Arcipelago Festival Internazionale di cortometraggi (short movies International Festival Archipelago) of Rome in 2010.
Her artistic projects proceed along two ways. The first one is characterized by bringing into play her body as protagonist of her works, set as a typically cinematographic structure. Her living pictures are an out-and-out 'mise en scéne'. The other line is apparently conflicting and it puts up the cinema of reality.
She participated in many contests, in particular Pagine Bianche d’autore FVG Prize, mention ed. 2005-06 ; 91° young artists collective exposition, Fondazione Bevilacqua la Masa, Venice, 2007; Pitti Immagine Prize, IT’s Photo # Seven, Trieste, 2008; Pagine Bianche d’Autore FVG Prize, mention ed. 2008-09; Magmart, International Videoart Festival, collection CAM/PAN Naples 5ed.; Wannabee Prize International Art Contest, Wannabee Gallery, Milan, 2010.
She lives in Rome.
