Introduction
The work of art from Ingrid van den Oord, characterizes itself by a special way of alienation, and by combination and variation of biologic abstraction with figuration. How do people associate with eachother, the society they live in. How do they handle with speed in time, revolutions, digital, political, social, and with the influence of applications out of science?
Wood proves to be the material in wich she expresses herself good. But, she uses other materials to work with, if the idea ore concept demands that. The sculptures vary in many different sizes, from very small to large, and are exposed in different ways: sculptures hanging on the ceiling, on the wall, standing against the wall, standing ore lying on the floor. They even represent themselves on furniture. She also creates drawings and poems, often in use of investigation, but also when a concept is best expressed in a drawing or a poem
