Biography
Romualdo Schiano, Neapolitan, I graduated in the 60s at the State Institute of Art in Naples section Decoration plastic, in the 70's taught at the Art Institute of San Leucio in the same section and istaurando with my new students , by replacing the clay with the paper and producing works related to other activities. In the '80 have been starred in several performances including "Art is for Sale?" Which concerned a protest on my wall of Prampolini, public work at the Overseas Exhibition of Naples, badly restored by laborers as well as against the use of public spaces with squalid art exhibitions business, for which I had the review of many art journals and also a certificate of appreciation by Roberto Pane. From 1983 to 1985 I made a series of paintings called "effects relived" in which I spoke on the canvas recovering fragments of fabrics, laces, of ancient artifacts. Since 1980, she appears in my works the Pompeian red, obtained with a natural earth. So, in 1986, the series "painting crossed" so named by prof. Nicola Ticket for the exhibition held in 1992 at Villa Rufolo in Ravello, and continued with shows in Germany in Monchengladbach, Alsdorf and Cologne. Later while I was interested in Digital-art, video-art with related exhibitions; I also realized works of a commemorative and celebratory, as the works on the Twin Towers in 2001, Nasiriya in 2003, and finally, in 2014, a body of work dedicated to Caesar Augustus to mark the two thousandth anniversary of his death, exposed to Naples at the Castel dell'Ovo, in Nola, where the emperor died and Rome. In the recent period I developed the idea of linearity. The work that combines painting crossed with my linearity, is the mural that I run in Diamante where the human figure is made up of a simple line that defines the contours in a white landscape: in fact in my last exhibition of 2015 at the Library Cross of Naples from the document shows that "the line is something overwhelming that surrounds us, penetrates into every reality of everyday life, but it transpires that exist without us noticing it." In December 2015 in Gaeta at the Municipal Gallery of Contemporary Art, there was the foundation of the group and the establishment of the artistic movement linearism chromatic open to all artists.
As for the artistic movement founded in Gaeta in December 2015, the linearity color, what unites us three artists is the combination of line and color but with different methods of expression, so we are a movement open to dialogue with other artists.
